During the Global Money Week 2019, BRAC Tanzania, along with its partners, organised visits to schools and BRAC’s country office for an awareness-raising campaign and a financial education seminar. These were conducted for BRAC staff members in two regions. Media representatives from local prominent newspapers were also invited to cover the activities.
Students of St Constantine School from the Arusha region visited BRAC Tanzania’s office to attend the seminar. Later, they observed a microfinance group meeting to understand the operations of the microloan group system.
In Dar es Salaam, 15 BRAC staff members visited St Joseph Millennium Secondary school and discussed financial literacy with the students. Teachers, deans and head teachers were also present at the event. Following this, a debate was conducted by the students on money matters. The activities in Dar es Salaam were chaired by the programme manager of BRAC Tanzania’s small enterprise programme.
